Perfumes and low temperatures, what should you remember in winter?

During the winter period, perfumes may be exposed to low temperatures during transport, such as in parcel boxes or during delivery. It is natural that this affects their temporary stability, so it is advisable to wait before using them for the first time after receipt approximately 24 hours, so that the ingredients stabilise again and the fragrance returns to its proper form.

After contact with the cold, it can also happen that the pressure pushes a few drops through the atomiser fluid- is the normal reaction of a product to a change in temperature.

Low temperatures can also cause precipitation of natural substances or crystals, such as Ambroxan. In this case, it is sufficient to gently warm the flacon (e.g. on a radiator or in water at 60-70 degrees celcius) and shake the contents, to restore the aesthetic appearance of the body.

Just as summer is demanding for scented candles, so winter poses a challenge for perfume. Temperature changes may affect their appearance and performance, but this does not mean that the product is damaged or unusable. Following the above tips will allow you to enjoy the full fragrance of your favourite compositions once again.
